What’s Next

We’ve been back in the States for a couple of months and back in DC since the middle of January.  We had a wonderful six weeks visiting our families in Texas before returning. Half of us are now employed, while the rest of us is plotting his next move. This is all to say that our Grand Tour of Europe has concluded. But that doesn’t mean that we’ve run out of things to report on.

I took about 15,000 photos, and I’ve only posted tiny fraction of them. I’ve got a lot of work to do to edit, tag, title, and caption them all, so it’s going to take some time. When I get a set of photos of a church, archaeological site, UNESCO World Heritage Site, or just a city processed and labeled, I’ll put them up on the Craighan Report. First up will be Granada and the Alhambra, which are up on Flickr, but for some reason, I just haven’t posted them here.

Going through my photos reminds of the stuff we did that I’ve since forgotten.  And since we’ve been back, we’ve gotten to share our stories with a few folks, but not with everyone (that would like to hear them) and not every story. We’ve also been asked what was our favorite city/country/place/thing and what we miss most and least. For my part, I loved Andalusia but haven’t really written about it or even coherently articulated why. Meghan loved Amsterdam, and we do have some pieces about our time there (here, here, here, and here), but I don’t think they really tell the whole story.  So, there will be more posts. I would say that I’ll try not to bombard you with updates, but it’s slow going, and I’m finding myself oddly busy otherwise.

Speaking of reminiscing, I’ve created another site just to remind us what we were doing last year.  This Day Last Year is a semi-daily posting meant to be emailed so that we have a fun memory in our inboxes several times a week. (On March 4th of last year we were walking around Valencia.) If you want to re-live the glory days of yesteryear, you can sign up below to start receiving emails.
