Plitvice Lakes: Finally Taking in Some Natural Scenery

When we we’re thinking about swinging through the Balkans, we were also considering we’d seen practically nothing of Europe’s natural beauty. We’d heard tales of the natural beauty of the region, so we added a two-day stop at Croatia’s Plitvice Lakes National Park to our itinerary.

We were not disappointed. Although we were prepared for it – packing water and food – we did not expect to spend the entire day at the park. We arrived a 10 AM and hiked around the Upper and Lower Lakes until we were pretty much chased out of the park by the rangers at 5:30.
