Photos from Venice

I’ve long suspected that it’s oversold, so I’ve harbored an ambivalence about visiting Venice. But, given the long list of works in Venice that are on my “Art to See” list and the opportunity of this travel year and, we put it on the itinerary. It is, after all, not going to be around forever.

It was not a disappointment, and in some ways lives up to the hype. We stayed in Padua – about a 30 minute train ride away – which, I think, made Venice more likeable. Actually staying on the island(s) with its lack of green space and/or outdoor seating, its crowds, and its high cost would’ve took the shine off the experience. Padua, by the way, is a gem.
